On March 21, 2015, we will hold our annual “Stairway to Our Future” event at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, honoring Howard Peterson. Launched in May 2010, Stairway to Our Future is an annual event held to support the much needed services that Drueding Center provides. A night of music, dancing, silent auction, and making a difference in the lives of homeless women and children, this event is held to support the much needed services that Drueding Center provides to its families.
This event also features the presentation of the Sr. Kathryn Etchells, CSR Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, named for the transitional housing program’s founder, is presented to an individual or organization that exemplifies hard work and dedication to Drueding Center’s women and children through volunteerism, philanthropy and acts of generosity.
At our 2014 event, through the support of our sponsors and friends we were able to help support the 502 families assisted by Drueding Center. Along with Stradley Ronon Stevens and Young and our many generous sponsors, our event continues to help end the cycle of poverty and homelessness faced by our mothers and their young children. Last year’s Sr. Kathryn Etchells CSR Lifetime Achievement Award went to Linda Ann Galante, Esq. for her years of dedicated leadership and service. Ms. Galante served as chair of the Drueding Center Board of Directors for 12 years and was the recipient of its Fifth Anniversary Person of the Year Award. In 1997, she was honored by Drueding Center with the naming of the Galante Career Development Center in recognition of her dedication to ending homelessness, especially for women and children.
With the altruistic support of our devoted staff, volunteers and sponsors, Drueding Center can provide both generations of our young families with a comprehensive program that works. We acknowledge that healing takes time and preserve our families’ achievements through an extensive After Care Program, forever breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness. Your generous support ensures that Drueding Center remains a place "Where hope comes alive™" for our families.
