Community Health Needs Assessment

The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) report provides information on a study of the health status and health needs of residents in the communities served by Holy Redeemer Hospital.

In 2022, Holy Redeemer Hospital participated with eight other health systems, including 37 other hospitals, located in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in a community health needs assessment process.  This process was led by the project team composed of staff from Health Care Improvement Foundation (HCIF), Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) and Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations (PACDC), in further partnership with numerous social service agencies and health departments, to produce a Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Regional CHNA.

The purpose of the needs assessment is to identify and prioritize community health needs to enable Holy Redeemer Hospital to develop strategies and plans that benefit the public.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 requires nonprofit, tax-exempt hospitals to assess the healthcare needs of their communities every three years and to adopt an implementation strategy to address the needs identified. Each hospital must make its Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) widely available to the public.
