Meadowbrook, PA—November 23, 2012—Holy Redeemer is pleased to announce that breast surgeon Beth Baughman DuPree, MD, has been named the winner of Philadelphia magazine’s first annual Health Hero Challenge, a search for “local champions of health and wellness who are inspiring and helping the residents of their community to make changes in their lives to ensure a healthier future.”
In September, Philadelphia magazine first selected Dr. DuPree selected as one of 16 semi-finalists to compete in the Health Hero Challenge for her work as a breast surgeon and Medical Director of Holy Redeemer's Breast Health Program, where she diagnoses and treats women and men with breast cancer, and works to help her patients become thrivers—not just survivors.
As the winner of the Health Hero Challenge, Philadelphia magazine donated $2,500 to Dr. DuPree’s charity of choice, the Healing Consciousness Foundation, a charity she founded to provide funding for healthy cooking programs, fitness classes including yoga and Zumba, and complementary therapies that her patients can participate in before, during, and after treatment—free of charge.
Dr. DuPree and her colleagues at Comprehensive Breast Care Surgeons have offices in two locations: Holy Redeemer Women’s HealthCare at Southampton, 45 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, and Holy Redeemer HealthCare at Bensalem, 3300 Tillman Drive, Suite 100, Bensalem.
