Safe, secure child care enables mothers to pursue their educational and employment goals, while knowing that their children are being given the academic and personal attention needed to combat the effects of homelessness on their lives.
The Specter Child Care Center The Specter Child Care Center is Drueding Center's professionally-staffed, fully licensed childcare facility, providing developmentally appropriate care and educational activities for children from birth to school age. In addition, the Center offers well-baby and pediatric services, HeadStart performance standards, play therapy, and an After School program for resident children.
After School Program The After School Program provides enrichment and support programs for children of residents and After Care participants, as well as neighborhood families. Offered each day after school, on school holidays and during summer vacation, the program is open to children ages 5-12.

Children can learn vital computer skills and improve their reading, math, geography skills, as well as hone their creative and artistic abilities
- Outings and field trips during summer vacation
- Drueding Teen Network (DTN), established in 2000 to help homeless and formerly homeless adolescents and young adults deal with anger management, and focus on developing teamwork, leadership and employment skills
