My number one health tip is infection control through proper hand washing and annual flu shots. These preventative measures go a long way.

I recommend that my patients strive to achieve heart healthy lifestyle. I recommend making small changes in the routine that are easy to sustain. If you do not exercise at all, start doing an aerobic activity for just 5 minutes a day. Be consistent and exercise every day. Eventually those 5 minutes will get easy and then you can add another 5 minutes. In time, you can build up to 20 minutes a day of physical activity. American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity - with just 20 minutes a day you can be heart healthy!

The best advice for 2020 is to live life now. From an orthopedic surgeon’s perspective, inactivity breeds inactivity and pain can be a contributing factor.
