Holy Redeemer Safe Care

At Holy Redeemer, the health and safety of our residents, patients, and team members is our top priority. Safety has always been part of our culture and now we have additional procedures in place to protect our Redeemer community in this COVID-19 environment.


We have increased the frequency of and enhanced our cleaning process in our Life Care communities, using new disinfection procedures with products proven effective against the COVID-19 virus.

Personal Protective Equipment

All Holy Redeemer team members are required to wear personal protective equipment and adhere to stringent hand washing hygiene in accordance with recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control. Additionally, we require residents to wear a mask when they leave their apartments.


We thoroughly screen all our team members daily. During the screening, team members answer questions about their current health status, have their temperature checked, wear the proper personal protective equipment, and sanitize their hands. When new team members are hired, we conduct thorough pre-employment testing for COVID-19 prior to the start date. We monitor residents twice daily for temperature elevation or changes in pulse oximetry readings. We also require all incoming health care patients to be tested for COVID-19 two days prior to admission.

Covid-19 Community Etiquette

We have installed alcohol-based hand rub at our entrance, in every hallway, and in proximity to each resident apartment. We have reconfigured room arrangements in common areas to allow residents and team members to maintain proper social distancing. We provide en-suite dining for every resident. Our team members provide ample opportunities for fellowship and recreation through virtual platforms and safe social distancing.

24-Hour Physician Accessibility

We use telehealth technology to ensure our health care patients and personal care residents have accessibility to expert geriatric medical care even after hours. During evening and weekends—the times when many skilled nursing and personal care communities are unable to immediately reach a doctor—our telehealth technology gives our professional caregivers the capability to rapidly connect patients and residents with geriatric physicians should an emergent condition occur. Telehealth not only gives our community enhanced care and peace of mind, but also reduces the risk of exposure to COVID-19 by helping to eliminate unnecessary trips to the hospital.

Isolation for COVID-19 Patients

We have set up a COVID-19 Isolation Unit within our Life Care communities. When treating individuals with COVID-19, our team members wear N-95 masks, isolation gowns, gloves, and face shields. Additionally, we ensure N-95 masks are impermeable by conducting proper fit-testing.


To maximize safety for our residents, patients, and team members, we are not allowing visitors into personal care or health care at this time. Visitors are permitted into independent living after a screening upon entrance. In the areas where visitation is restricted, we recognize how hard this is for our community and families. To ease the situation, we have put in place many creative and virtual ways to foster connection and fellowship until we can return to normal. Our team members are available to help residents and patients enjoy video visits with loved ones, as well as consult with families who want to celebrate a resident's or patient’s birthday or other milestone while maintaining a safe social distance. Additionally, each day, our team helps residents enjoy a dynamic range of virtual events and activities, as well as small gatherings at safe social distances.
