COVID-19 Vaccine Update

As we start 2021, we want to be sure to keep you up to date about the progress of the COVID vaccination process within the Holy Redeemer Health System. We launched a staff vaccination program on December 23rd and have continued to administer vaccines uninterrupted to Holy Redeemer team members who provide care and service in our hospital, outpatient facilities, life care communities, and in patients’ homes. Additionally, along with CVS, we are vaccinating the residents in our Life Care communities.

In terms of providing vaccinations to our community members, several factors impact our scheduling capacity: when and how many vaccines we receive at any one time from the PA Department of Health (PA DOH) and the order in which we can administer vaccines in accordance with guidelines set forth by the PA DOH.

We are aware many neighbors in our service area are interested in receiving a vaccination. We appreciate your eagerness. Unfortunately, with the demand of our staff, we have currently reached our scheduling capacity. We advise you to check the scheduling capacity of other local providers, which can be found on the website of the PA Department of Health. Additionally, we will continue to post updates on this page when and if additional appointments will become available at Holy Redeemer.

With the arrival of the vaccine, many Holy Redeemer staff members have exhibited a sense of gratitude and relief knowing that they now have the most powerful resource available to not only protect themselves, but the patients, colleagues, family, and friends they see and talk to every day. "I feel good about getting the vaccine for my safety, for my family, and the patients I take care of," says Holy Redeemer RN Haroon Inayat. Nurse Manager Dominica Leisey couldn’t agree more. “This is our first real message of hope...we’ll continue to get through this and have a really bright 2021!”
